Parkinson en mouvement offers specialized training to qualified individuals so that they can teach dance and movement classes specifically adapted to people with Parkinson’s disease. These classes cover theoretical and practical aspects related to teaching people with the disease. They are followed by an in-person internship in the classroom. Trainees have the opportunity to observe, integrate the training, and apply their knowledge in a studio or online, under the supervision of a PEM instructor.

PEM professionals use a unique approach that combines expertise in dance, dance therapy, and physical therapy. The courses promote improvements in strength, balance, endurance, range of motion, gait, and posture, which facilitate activities of daily living. Choreography and improvisation are also key elements of the PEM program.

Candidates must have training as a dancer, dance therapist, kinesiologist, physical therapist, or personal trainer. Teaching skills and prior experience are recommended.

The number of participants is limited.
